125 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the number of consultancy contracts awarded by him or by the Ministers of State at his Department; their value and purpose; the costs in terms of salary or consultancy fees; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources (Dr. Woods):

I have not awarded any consultancy contracts since I took office on 26 June 1997.

My Department, in the normal course of its work, engages, from time to time, design, engineering, technical and other consultants, and external evaluators.
