Vol. 480 No. 6

Written Answers - Ministerial Appointments.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

149 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she or Ministers of State at her Department has appointed a programme manager or a special adviser or both; if so, the salary paid to them; the terms of their contracts; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [15004/97]

I have not appointed either a programme manager or a special adviser.

I have reappointed the press adviser, who had worked in this Department for my two immediate predecessors — Deputy Michael Lowry and Deputy Alan Dukes — at an expected annual cost of £44,137 — includes employers PRSI. The terms of his contract are currently being finalised by the Department of Finance.

No programme manager or special adviser has been appointed to the Minister of State at my Department.
