164 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a firm of solicitors (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive a written reply to their letter dated 23 January 1997, which was addressed to his Department. [14292/97]

Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. Walsh):

A letter has recently been issued to his firm of solicitors.

The delay in dealing with this and other correspondence was unavoidable because of scarce staff resources in the office concerned.
