Question:220 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the total costs arising from the changes in name and responsibilities in respect of eight Government Departments; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14798/97]
Written Answers - Departmental Costs.
The changes in responsibilities of Government Departments involves, in general, an Exchequerneutral transfer of staff and other resources between them. Changes in the name of Departments generate costs in relation to changes to ministerial seals, signs in departmental properties and stationery, the costs of which are borne by the administrative budgets of Departments and do not require individual sanction from my Department. Full information is therefore not yet available to me on the total costs arising from these changes. The most up-to-date information available to me, is set out below:
