221 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the current position in relation to the acquisition of a premises or site for a Garda station at Leixlip, County Kildare; the number of inquiries his Department has made in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14807/97]

Minister of State at the Department of Finance (Mr. Cullen):

Architectural examinations of six properties in Leixlip have been carried out. The Commissioners of Public Works are at present examining the potentially suitable properties identified.
