Michael Ring

Question:

238 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason the Western Health Board will not pay a person (details supplied) in County Mayo to look after a widower's children in view of the fact that the eldest has reached 14 years of age and the family was told this child could now look after her brothers and sisters. Question:

288 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason the Western Health Board will not pay a person (details supplied) in County Mayo to look after a widower's children ranging in ages from eight to 16 years in view of the fact that all of them are in full-time education and are fully dependent. [14811/97]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 238 and 288 together.

The provision of child care and family support services to persons in County Mayo is a matter for the Western Health Board. I have arranged to have the details of the case referred to by the Deputy passed on to the chief executive of the board and he has been asked to reply directly to the Deputy as soon as possible.
