Question:

241 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children whether a person (details supplied) in County Mayo can be called to an ear, nose and throat consultant for treatment as soon as possible in order not to disrupt his studies. [14309/97]

As the provision of ENT treatment to the person concerned, in this instance, is the responsibility of the Western Health Board, I have asked the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

242 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when an 82-year-old person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for a prostate operation in view of the fact that he is in severe pain and discomfort. [14310/97]

As the provision of urology treatment to the person concerned, in this instance, is the responsibility of the Western Health Board, I have asked the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
