Vol. 480 No. 6

Written Answers - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Michael Ring

Question:

286 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for a hip operation in view of the fact that she has been waiting for some time and she is in considerable pain. [14809/97]

I understand from the details supplied by the Deputy that the person in question is awaiting a hip operation at Sligo General Hospital. The provision of orthopaedic services at Sligo General Hospital is the responsibility of the North-Western Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the North-Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
