351 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason for the delay in making payment of a new house grant to persons (details supplied) in County Louth; when payment will be made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14548/97]

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Molloy):

A grant cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a condition of the scheme, the floor area of the house exceeds the maximum limit of 125 square metres.
