Question:462 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will expedite the registration of two folio numbers lodged early in 1997 for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [14255/97]
Written Answers - Registration of Title.
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that dealing No. 97SMO2997 refers to an application for exchange which was lodged on 13 April 1997. Queries were issued to the lodging solicitor on 22 July 1997 and replies are awaited.
I am further informed by the Registrar of Titles that dealing No. 97SMO2998 refers to an application under section 49 (i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession) of the Registration of Title Act, 1964 which was lodged on 23 May 1997. I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49 take some time to process and it is not possible to estimate a completion time at this stage.
The Deputy may wish to know that the affidavit accompanying this application was returned, at their request, to the lodging solicitors on 11 September 1997 and was relodged on 22 September 1997.
