Question:

498 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will request the Garda to arrange a joint meeting with Dublin Corporation officials to co-ordinate strategy to deal with the culprits using stolen cars to demolish walls and lampposts, and to terrorise local residents (details supplied) in Dublin 10. [14518/97]

I am informed by the Garda Commissioner that arising from a recent meeting between officials of Dublin Corporation and the Garda, a strategy to deal with the problems of the area will be examined. Incidently gardaí have arrested and charged two youths who are believed to have orchestrated the disturbances and they are at present before the courts.

499 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the Garda have received complaints of serious harassment and intimidation of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7; and if so, the action, if any, the Garda have taken in this matter. [14519/97]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that no evidence has been found to substantiate the complaints made.
