536 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of consultancy contracts awarded by him or by the Ministers of State at his Department; their value and purpose; the costs in terms of salary or consultancy fees; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. O'Donoghue):

No consultancy contracts have been awarded by me or the Minister of State at my Department.

This contrasts with the position which obtained during the term of office of the previous Minister, Deputy Nora Owen, the total cost of various public relations consultancies was £ 85,077.
