561 Mr. Briscoe asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, he has to introduce grants for mature students attending post-leaving certificate courses such as those organised by the Dublin Institute of Technology; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14405/97]
The Government's action programme for the new millenium contains a commitment to provide "equitable support of students attending PLC courses", reflecting the importance the Government attaches to students in this sector. The details in regard to the implementation of this commitment are being considered at present.
