Vol. 480 No. 6

Written Answers - Teacher Appointments.

Pat Rabbitte

Question:

595 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Education if his attention has been drawn to the need for a further special teacher at Jobstown Community College, Dublin 24, in view of the number of students with validated special needs; and his intentions in the matter. [14693/97]

Jobstown Community College has an allocation of one permanent resource post since 1995-96. On the basis of recommendations from my Department's psychological service and having regard to the projected number of students, my Department has sanctioned an additional allocation of one temporary resource post to meet the needs of special students for the 1997-98 school year.

The position will be reviewed for the 1998-99 school year.
