Vol. 480 No. 6

Written Answers - Departmental Costs.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

119 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the cost of changing the name and responsibilities of his Department; if such expense will be borne from internal savings or by Supplementary Estimate; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14852/97]

Additional costs arise for my Department in relation to technical changes, such as to stationery, and also in relation to the additional costs of new staff resources, services and programmes being transferred to my Department. The former costs are negligible and will be funded from existing provisions. The latter costs should not result in additional Exchequer costs as transfers from other Votes are involved.
