Vol. 481 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Michael Ring

Question:

155 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Donegal will be called to Sligo General Hospital for an eye cataract operation in view of the fact that she is aged almost 80 and has already been waiting for three years. [15352/97]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Donegal is the statutory responsibility of the North-Western Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the North-Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
