218 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will ask the gardaí at Santry and Whitehall to deal with a serious problem of drug dealing at a location (details supplied) in Dublin 9; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15359/97]
: I am informed by the Garda authorities that young people congregate in the area in question and that it has been subject to both overt and covert Garda operations. The Garda inform me that small quantities of drugs have been seized in the area in question and that prosecutions are pending against seven people. The Garda authorities have informed me that the level of dealing has been reduced and the area will continue to receive appropriate police attention.
