262 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science when he will sanction the necessary finance for an extension to Coláiste Mhuire secondary school, Mullingar, County Westmeath; if his attention has been drawn to the fact there is an increased intake of students in the 1997-98 academic year, reinforcing the urgency for the extension being built for 1998; and if he will make a statement on the matter. : The extension for Coláiste Mhuire secondary school, Mullingar, is at the early stages of architectural planning. My Department has requested a revised Stage 1/2/3, combined, to include an outline sketch scheme.

The question of finance will not arise until this project has progressed satisfactorily through the remaining stages of architectural planning.
