Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Cooper-Flynn — the progress of the north Mayo enterprise initiative in securing new employment for the north Mayo region as Asahi is due to cease trading in November with the loss of 315 jobs; (2) Deputy Durkan — the subject matter of Parliamentary Question No. 110 of 1 October 1997; (3) Deputy Neville — the need to sanction the extension to replace the prefabricated classrooms at Pallaskenry national school, County Limerick; (4) Deputy Noonan — the progress that has been made with the European Union Commission regarding the Government policy to maintain the rate of corporation tax at 10 per cent in respect of the manufacturing industry to the year 2010 and to the year 2005 for the financial services; (5) Deputy Shatter — the need for an inquiry into the circumstances of the death of Gordon Hearty and the role of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, and the Blood Transfusion Service Board.

The matters raised by Deputies Cooper-Flynn, Shatter, Durkan and Neville have been selected for discussion.
