Written Answers. - National Lottery Funding.
The health allocation of national lottery funds for 1997 is £23.355 million. This includes £4 million which forms part of the funding for the capital programme. The remaining £19.355 includes £13.064 million which funds on-going services administered by health boards or by bodies which have a close relationship with my Department. A further £4.253 million is allocated to health agencies to fund the respite care grants scheme, the schemes of grants to voluntary organisations and the disadvantaged youth scheme. The amount of discretionary funding available for 1997 from the proceeds of the national lottery is £2.038 million. Details of the grants allocated are set out in the following schedule.
