Vol. 482 No. 6

Written Answers. - Buckley Report.

Emmet Stagg

Question:

169 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the terms of the Buckley report which will be applied to the payments to State commercial enterprises under her remit. [19039/97]

I presume the Deputy is referring to the recommendations in relation to remuneration of chief executives of State companies.

As the Minister for Finance indicated in his written reply to question 14857/97 on 8 October 1997, no decision has been taken by the Government on implementing the recommendations of the 37th Report of the Review Body on Higher Remuneration in the Public Sector, sometimes referred to as the Buckley report. The report itself is available in the Library of the House. The question of implementation is, however, being kept under the review.
