173 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Defence if it is the policy of his Department to observe the provisions of the Employment Equality Act, 1977 and in particular section 2(b); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19059/97]

There is no discrimination on grounds of marital status as described in section 2 (b) of the Employment Equality Act, 1977 in so far as employment with the Department of Defence is concerned.
