178 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the current number of REP scheme applications being dealt with by the Navan office, County Meath; the current number of applications under the control of farm pollution scheme; the current number of applications under the alternative enterprise and farm improvements programme; and the numbers for each scheme which have been approved to date. [18462/97]

In addition, under the farm improvement programme which was closed in December 1994, there are still a number of farmers carrying out work relevant to that measure. At 7 November 1997 there are 14 applications to commence work awaiting approval under this scheme.
