296 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim will be called for an eye examination in view of the fact that she is on the waiting list for some time. [18907/97]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Leitrim is the statutory responsibility of the North-Western Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the North-Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.

297 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for a tonsillectomy in view of the fact that she has been waiting for over three months. [18908/97]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Mayo is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
