Vol. 482 No. 6

Written Answers. - Court Cases.

Liz McManus

Question:

363 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if an action is being defended by the Government in relation to a court action taken by a person (details supplied) regarding the Refugee Act, 1996; when this case will be heard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18682/97]

The action in question is being defended. It is a matter for the plaintiff to bring the matter on. I have no role in deciding when the case might be heard, the arrangement of business in the courts is a matter for the courts alone. As the case is before the court it would not be appropriate for me to comment further.
