Question:373 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will reintroduce the Employment Equality Bill and the Equal Status Bill as amended; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18869/97]
Written Answers. - Equality Legislation.
The Employment Equality Bill, 1996, is being revised in light of the Supreme Court judgment of 15 May 1997. My Department is currently carrying out this revision process, which is progressing satisfactorily, and it is expected that a new Bill may be published before Christmas or early in the New Year. A revised Equal Status Bill will be published during 1998.
