Vol. 482 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Bernard Allen

Question:

421 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation when the remaining £5,000 of the £20,000 allocated to Cork City Sports in 1996 will be paid, in view of the fact that it was sanctioned by his predecessor. [19048/97]

The records of my Department indicate that a grant of £15,000 was approved and offered in respect of this event in 1996 and I am advised that this amount has already been paid in full to the organisers.

Question:

422 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation when the grant allocated to a group (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid. [19049/97]

Projects sponsored by the group were approved for grants of £5,000 in 1994 and of £10,000 in 1996. However, in line with standard procedures, payment of these grants is subject to the group providing specific documentation and information confirming that the development as carried out complies with the terms and conditions of the scheme. My Department last wrote to the group in July 1997 reminding them of this requirement and once the necessary data has been supplied, arrangements can proceed for payment.
