441 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Education and Science the number of students who enrolled for national certificate courses in each of the regional colleges and Waterford Institute of Technology, formerly Waterford Regional Technical College, for each of the years from 1987 to 1997; the number in each college in each of those years who did not complete their first year; the number in each college in each of those years who took the examination at the end of the first year; the number of these who attained at least a pass grade at the end of the first year; the number in each college in each of those years who did not complete their second year; the number in each college in each of those years who took the examination at the end of the second year; the number of these who attained at least a pass grade at the end of the second year; the number in each college in each of those years who continued on to a diploma course; the number in each college in each of those years who continued on to some other qualification; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
