459 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will have arrangements made to have an application made by Kilkenny vocational education committee approved for the provision of a basketball court and fencing for a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny in view of the fact that the application has been with his Department for sometime and a decision is urgently awaited. [18871/97]
Applications were submitted to my Department in June 1997 for the provision of a basketball court and palisade fencing at the school in question. County Kilkenny Vocational Education Committee has been informed that it is not possible to accede to these requests due to financial restrictions and having regard to ongoing contractual commitments. However, these applications will continue to be considered in light of available resources and competing priorities.
