Vol. 482 No. 8

Written Answers. - Hospital Care.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

170 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have examinations made into the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 6 who is 69 years old and suffers from rheumatoid arthritis but who is being moved from hospital to hospital and needs more permanent hospitalisation in a place where she can be visited by her elderly sisters; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19544/97]

As the Deputy will be aware, the provision of extended care facilities for older people in the Dublin area is a matter for the Eastern Health Board.

I have asked the chief executive officer of the Eastern Health Board to investigate this case as a matter of urgency and respond directly to the Deputy with the board's findings.
