Vol. 482 No. 8

Written Answers. - Agricultural Schemes.

Dick Spring

Question:

31 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the cost on an annual basis of administering the suckler cow premium, ten month special beef premium, 22 month special beef premium, the deseasonalisation slaughter scheme premium, extensification, headage payments and rural environmental protection schemes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19475/97]

The annual cost of administering the above schemes is estimated at £23.28 million. This figure is based on current average salary costs together with overtime, travelling and subsistence costs with an additional appropriate percentage to cover PRSI, superannuation and overhead costs.
