Vol. 482 No. 8

Written Answers. - Turbary Rights.

Jack Wall

Question:

35 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when the Land Commission will hand back the turbary rights to farmers who own the fee simple on land in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19456/97]

It is the intention to waive all remaining turbary rights held by the Land Commission and surplus to its requirements in favour of the owners of the fee simple. Given the staffing difficulties in the Land Commission this task will take some time to complete.
