Vol. 482 No. 8

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

76 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will approve additional staff to the Navan office, County Meath to deal with the REP scheme, the control of farm pollution, dairy hygiene and alternative enterprise in farm improvements schemes in view of the fact that the office is currently understaffed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19287/97]

I am aware that there are staffing problems in the Navan office. I wish to inform the Deputy that my Department has arranged for the assignment of an officer to the Navan office from Monday 24 November 1997.
