Vol. 482 No. 8

Written Answers. - Company Inspections.

Phil Hogan

Question:

80 Mr. Hogan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when the inspector's report in respect of a company (details supplied) will be concluded in view of the commitment given by the appointment of the inspector; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [19517/97]

As I indicated to the House on 11 September 1997 [Official Report, volume 480, No. 5, columns 824-825] I appointed authorised officers to examine the books and documents of Garuda Ltd, trading as Streamline Enterprises, and, separately, Celtic Helicopters Ltd. The examination of the documents and books in these cases is particularly complex and is proceeding as fast as possible. I am being kept up to date on the work of the authorised officers.

I do not intend to make any comment until I have received these reports and considered them in the light of legal advice and the options then available to me.
