Vol. 483 No. 6

Written Answers. - Nutrient Management Planning Scheme.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

195 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of farmers to date in 1997 who have become involved in the nutrient management planning scheme. [21146/97]

To date three farm nutrient management plans have been received and acknowledged by my Department. However, as the tax reliefs referred to in the Finance Act, 1997, also apply to those participating in the rural environment protection scheme (REPS) and the Erne Catchment nutrient management scheme, I am not in a position to indicate the overall uptake. This is a matter proper to the Revenue Commissioners.
