387 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform whether he has satisfied himself that the Garda have ready access to the most modern communications technology; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21256/97]
By its nature telecommunications technology is constantly changing. I am advised by Garda management that the communications needs of the Garda Síochána are continuously assessed and reviewed by the Garda Telecommunications Section so as to ensure that the most up to date facilities in a policing context are available to it.
