439 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will establish a paedophile register; if so, the individuals who will have access to this information; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21572/97]
As I have said previously in the House, the discussion paper on sexual offences currently being prepared in my Department will contain a detailed section on issues surrounding the establishment of a register of paedophiles or for sex offenders generally. It is my intention to publish the discussion paper early in the New Year.
