I propose to take Questions Nos. 31, 41, 66, 75, 77, 88 and 102 together.

In accordance with the provisions of the Firearms Acts 1925 to 1990, the powers to grant a firearm certificate to a person resident in the State is vested in the local superintendent of the Garda district where the person resides. Firearm certificates to non-residents are granted by me.
Strict conditions for the granting of these certificates are provided for in the Acts. In addition, a firearm certificate may be revoked in circumstances provided for in the Acts.
I am satisfied that the restrictions imposed in the Firearms Acts, 1925 to 1990 are adequate to control the use and issue of firearms. Accordingly, I have no plans to amend these Acts in this regard.
