Vol. 483 No. 6

Written Answers. - Tribunals Legislation.

John Bruton

Question:

121 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will make a statement on the amendments, if any, the Government is considering to the Tribunals of Inquiry (Evidence) Act. [21160/97]

The amendments of the law in relation to tribunals which are proposed by the Government are as contained in the Tribunals of Inquiry (Evidence) (Amendment) Bill, 1997 which I have initiated and which was circulated to Members of the House this morning. The Taoiseach has indicated to the House that he wishes to have the legislation passed in this session. I look forward to an early and constructive debate on the Bill.
