113 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation whether he will be in a position in 1998 to award grants from the proceeds of the national lottery to voluntary bodies providing sporting and recreational facilities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21679/97]

National lottery funding is allocated to my Department for the sports capital programme and the level of funding as set out in the 1998 Abridged Book of Estimates for grant payments next year is £6 million. This is subject to the upcoming budget after which the 1998 Estimates provision for the programme will be finalised.
