Question:

62 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a 1997 special beef premium grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford in view of the fact that she has already furnished quota details to his Department as requested. [22506/97]

The person named submitted applications for a total of 27 animals under the 1997 ten month and 22 month special beef premium schemes.

Payment has not issued as there was an outstanding problem with the milk quota details declared on the area aid application of the person named. The required documentation has only recently been received. It appears that the herdowner's milk quota has been leased and is not reckonable for stocking density purposes. A 60 per cent advance payment will issue on 18.33 animals representing 11 livestock units within the next week.

A further payment in respect of 6.67 animals representing four livestock units will issue early in the new year as under the EU regulations governing the scheme, the person named is entitled to payment on up to 15 livestock units, 25 animals at 0.6 livestock units in total.
