Vol. 485 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tax Rebates.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

72 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Finance whether a person (details supplied) in County Donegal is entitled to a rebate on petrol; whether his Department has received this request; and the current status of this request. [22501/97]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissiners that the person in question is registered as a disabled driver with the Central Repayments office in Monaghan for the purposes of obtaining repayment of the tax borne by him on his purchases of petrol. The last claim received from the person was on 26 February 1996 and was paid in full on 29 March 1996. This claim was in respect of petrol purchased during the preceding two years. No subsequent claim has been received.

The Revenue Commissioners have issued a fresh claim form to the person and if he will complete this and return it, with the supporting receipts, to the office of the Accountant General in Ennis, County Clare, they will arrange for the appropriate repayment to issue as soon as possible. If it is the case that the last repayment referred to above has not been received by the person, he should contact the Accountant General's office (phone (065) 41200) so that the matter can be investigated.
