221 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he discussed the provision of a sewage treatment plant for Galway and its environs at his recent meeting with Commissioner Monika Wulf-Mathies. [23292/97]
As the Deputy will be aware the provision of a sewage treatment plant for any area is, and should be, a matter for the relevant local authority. The project referred to by the Deputy was mentioned in the general context of the progress of major infrastructural projects in water services.
