Vol. 486 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Michael Creed

Question:

132 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department has studied projected enrolment patterns at a school (details supplied) in County Cork; and, if so, if he will have arrangments made for the provision of an extra classroom, a PE hall, a ladies toilet, a remedial teacher's room, a library and office facilities. [2762/98]

My Department has examined the projected enrolment patterns at the school referred to by the Deputy. Funding for the provision of additional accommodation must be looked at in the light of existing contractual commitments for 1998 and other priority projects. These matters are under consideration at present and I expect that the process will be completed shortly. My Department will contact the school management as soon as these matters have been finalised.
