Vol. 486 No. 4

Written Answers. - Area Aid Applications.

Alan M. Dukes

Question:

75 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason his Department refused a number to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who made application in 1997 for area aid; and if his Department will reconsider the decision, in view of the fact that the land farmed by the person in question is entirely separate to other lands farmed by other members of his family. [2768/98]

The person named submitted an area aid application in 1997 in addition to that of his mother. As a new application it was subjected to an inspection. The application for a separate number was not accepted as it was considered that he was not farming independently.
