117 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if she has received an application for assistance to set up a short wave radio station in Mayo; her views on this; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2803/98]
I have received representations on behalf of West Coast Radio Ireland which I understand is providing a programme service recorded in County Mayo and broadcast on their behalf by the operators of a shortwave station based in Germany. At present my Department is arranging a meeting with the representatives of West Coast Radio Ireland which I hope can take place in the near future.
