Vol. 486 No. 4

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

125 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the projected costs of the proposed refurbishment of the existing Garda sub-office at Leixlip, County Kildare; if he will confirm that this expenditure will not impede the provision of the new Garda station already proposed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2864/98]

I have been informed by the Office of Public Works that the estimated costs of the refurbishment works of the Garda substation is £36,000. This expenditure, which is an interim measure, does not affect the decision already made to provide a new Garda station at Leixlip.
