23 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands when the national cultural institutions council will be established in view of the fact that it was listed as a priority in An Action Programme for the Millennium; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2834/98]
The administrative and other aspects including the terms of reference of the proposed national cultural institutions council are currently under consideration by my Department. I would expect that the council will be established this year. It is my intention that the council will be a multi-faceted one and not simply confined to the heritage institutions.
