25 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if she has received written approval from the EU Commission for funding for the proposed screen commission; when the screen commission will be established; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2836/98]
I have now obtained the necessary approval to allow the funding of the screen commission of Ireland from recoupments by Bord Scannán an hÉireann of development and production loans given by the board.
Accordingly, I hope to be in a position to make an announcement regarding the establishment of an operational screen commission in the very near future.
