76 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of cars and of other vehicles which were taxed in each of the past five years in the State, in Dublin and in Fingal. [2975/98]

The following tabular statement provides details of the number of private cars and of other vehicles which were currently taxed in the last five years in the State and in Dublin as at 31 December. The figures for Dublin are for the entire Dublin area, including the corporation and the three county councils. Separate figures for Fingal are not available.

The following tabular statement provides details of the motor tax revenue collected in the past five years in the State and in Dublin. Dublin Corporation is the collecting authority for motor tax for the entire Dublin area including Fingal. Separate figures for the revenue collected for Fingal are not available.
